Impact of skin damage on health-related quality of life.
Impact of skin damage on health-related quality of life. Histograms represent means with SEs. (A) The Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus Disease Area and Severity Index (CLASI) damage summary scores (CLASI-D) of patients with absent or present damage have a significant negative impact on patient health-related quality of life as measured by the pSkindex27 and the Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory Generic Core scale (PedsQL-GC) (results from self-report are shown). (B) Different features of skin-related damage as measures by the CLASI are shown for their effects on health-related quality of life. The 29 patients without skin-related damage (CLASI-D=0) have higher health-related quality of life; skin scarring or scarring alopecia has a more profound negative effect on patients’ health-related quality of life than dyspigmentation.
