23 DISABILITY MANAGEMENT INITIATIVE (DMI)
In 2007, Pensions and Benefits Sector (PBS) of Treasury Board Secretariat commenced coordinating an initiative to analyze and review disability management in the Federal Public Service: Disability management is inconsistent across the Federal Public Service Current approach creates hardship and fairness issues Limited focus on early return to work Lack of policy alignment Costs are not well-managed Limited capacity for disability management 23
