Thriving At ccny The academic record you bring to CCNY determines what you register for Credits accumulated/Transferred If you did AP courses, you must let your advisor know. If you did College Now courses, you must let your advisor know If you did IB courses, you must let your advisor know (The more credits you have at the start, the fewer you have left to do.) For all majors other than those of the professional schools you need at least 120 credits to graduate To earn 120 credits in 4 years, take at least 15 credits each semester All the courses you take must fall into one of the three categories As you progress, each semester, take a piece of each slice I.E.: 1 – Gen. Ed/Pathways Checklist: * (Checklist) * These courses allow you to have a well-rounded education and also explore a wide range of subjects 2 – Major – See your Department and/or Division * Major requirements are specific and must be met as per the undergraduate bulletin 3 – For 2nd Major, Minor or Free Electives, chose accordingly * In most cases you may have 2 majors (Allowed: Psychology & Biology || Not Allowed: M.Eng. & C.Eng.)) * You may have a Minor (another discipline of study, but fewer required courses than a major) * Free Elective (course not attached to a major/minor; just because) The classes you take depend on the degree/major you are pursuing, NOT what your friends say.
