1. Mrs. Jensen’s News January 21st – January 25th, 2019 We are learning!
This week our favorite stories to read were LITTLE QUACK & WODNEY WAT. LITTLE QUACK had us doing addition! Wodney Wat had us talking about the importance of treating others as we want to be treated. We had empathy for Wodney as he struggled with pronouncing his sounds.
We studied the letter Rr and it’s sounds. We worked hard on identifying sounds at the beginning and middle of words. We also practiced the sight words: find, with, away, come, me & she.
In math, we worked on patterns (ABB & ABC), identifying numbers through 20, counting to and back from 20, adding 1 and subtracting one, learning about area and comparing using more than and the same as. Ask your child about the sprints we are practicing for! It takes a lot of self-control to stop when given the signal.
Roller skating has been an absolute blast! It always amazes me to see their growth in just a couple weeks.
Please be sure to return the Books & Breakfast slip next week if you haven’t yet. The cafeteria needs a count on how many to plan for.

READ, READ, READ those leveled readers that were sent home in a baggie for your child. Keep the reader but be sure to return the signed slip in the baggie so I can send another home. Return each book within 2 days.
