Visitors Visitors are only allowed to enter through the front office.
You must wear your visitor badge while on campus. You must stay in the assigned area printed on your badge. If you need to visit another part of the school please go to the front office for approval.

Safety Parents will be notified when we have a drill.
Campus administration will send an and a text message immediately before conducting a drill on your child's campus. To receive s and text alerts, please be sure to sign up in Skyward. Practice common language associated with these drills. Reinforce the importance of school safety at home. Practice/reinforce the importance of following teacher’s directions. Each classroom is a Safe Place for our Pre-K students.

Uniform Dress Code Students are required to wear uniform dress at Hubenak White, navy blue, light blue, black or red solid color collared shirt/blouse or school T-shirt, husky school shirts or “track” shirts on Friday. Khaki, navy blue, black or blue denim jeans, pants, capris, shorts, skirts, skorts (split skirts), or jumpers No commercial print Logos- no larger than a quarter. Sweaters, jackets, hoodies, or other tops intended to be worn in the building must be solid white, navy blue, light blue, red, black, or an approved Hubenak item. Hubenak Spirit Wear All students may wear Hubenak Spirit Wear any day of the week. PTA is selling grade level shirts online and an order form will be sent home. These shirts are used to help identify kids in various grade levels during field trips and school functions. Money helps support PTA which provide for all the fun activities our Huskies get to participate in. PTA is selling grade level shirts online and an order form will be sent home. Once the pre-order is done these shirts will not be available for purchase.

Attendance First bell rings at AM 7:15/PM 11:00 (tardy)
Arrive as early as 7:00 All PK students will wait in the cafeteria with the paras. Your child should be through the double doors by 7:30 (not 7:30:40), or they will be counted tardy. If not, you must park and walk your child into the front office. Tardiness effects morning routines and procedures. Every minute counts in Pre-k! Absence – a note from home or doctor’s office is required upon returning to school. Students must be fever free (less than 100 without medicine) for 24 hours before returning to school.

Tardy Consequences First Tardy- Warning
Second-Third Tardy- Lunch Bunch (student sits quietly and eats lunch) Fourth Tardy- Administrator will contact parent. Fifth-Eighth Tardy- Discipline referrals for each tardy. Ninth Tardy- Attendance review Tardies start over every 9 week period.

Lunch Parents may eat with their child after the 2nd week of school.
After a child owes $15.00, a cold cheese sandwich and milk will be served and the charge will be .50 cents. Milk is the beverage at lunch. Please indicate if your child has a food allergy or has food restrictions in SKYWARD. Online link for menu PK does not have snack time/Peanut free classroom 30 minutes: AM 10:20-10:50 PM 11:00-11:30 Students may purchase from cafeteria or bring ready to eat lunch. Cost: free for all Pre-K students Visitor prices: breakfast $2.25 and lunch $4.00

Homework Reading – Please read each night to your child or have your child read to you. Each child will have a reading log in their daily folder. Parents will document the title of the book read at home. Students will earn in class rewards for reading at home. Periodically, we will ask your child to work with you to complete an assignment to enhance our leanring. Please check your teacher’s newsletter/ s for these assignments. Please your child’s teacher for ideas and tips on how to keep your child learning at home.

This is immediate feedback of your child’s conduct for the day. A notebook page has been added in their daily folder for praises/conduct explanations. Initial daily This helps the teachers know that your child’s conduct has been reviewed. Use this folder to send notes to teacher in protective sleeve.

Teacher-Parent Communication
Each teacher will send a weekly newsletter with information about… What your child learned that week. Skills that will be introduced in the following week. Imortant dates/events to remember Resources for your child to use at home. Please review the newsletter and let your child’s teacher know if you have any questions. If you need to schedule a conference, please the teacher and give her 24 hours to schedule a date.

Skylert Text Messages This year, Lamar CISD would like to utilize text messaging to communicate important information to our community. To opt in to these messages, parents must log in to the Skyward Family Access Center and add a Text Message Number to their Skylert communication options. To access this option, first click on the “Skylert” menu option inside the Family Access Center. Once on the Skylert communication screen, scroll to the bottom of the page and add a Text Message Number to be associated with your students. You should also select the types of communication you would like to receive via text. You may also add additional contact options in the “Additional Contact Info” area.

Skyward – Family Access
LCISD guardians will be able to make changes to items such as phone numbers, addresses, emergency contacts, etc., all online through the Skyward Family Access Center. There is a video on the Family Access page of the district web site that walks parents through how to make changes. This is the direct link: Complete beginning of school year paperwork on line.

Backpack/Luggage Tags
Luggage tags are to stay on your child’s backpacks ALL YEAR. Please do not remove. These help us identify your child and their mode of transportation during dismissal. Your child’s scan ID card will be inserted in this tag as well for easy breakfast/lunch purchasing. $3

Mid-day PK Dismissal and Arrival
AM Dismissal: 10:50-11:00 Bus riders will be dropped off in front of house. Parent/Guardian MUST be present with the BLUE bus card. PM Arrival: 10:50-11:00 (parents in car line will be held along the curve in the font parking lot to allow AM parents to pick up their students. PM students are considered tardy if not in the building by 11:00am

Blue Bus Tags All pre-K bus riders in Lamar CISD must be met at their bus stop by a parent, guardian or designated adult. The responsible person must also show a “Blue Card” with student information such as student name, address and campus, to pick up a pre-K student. Parents or guardians may pick up Blue Cards in the front office. Each parent/guardian will be allowed three Blue Cards to give to individuals designated to pick up their pre-K bus rider. If your child attends Kids r Kids in Bella Terra, THE DAYCARE WILL NEED A BLUE BUS CARD FOR YOUR CHILD TO BE DROPPED OFF.

Important Bus Information
1. Obey the instructions of the bus driver. At no time will a student act toward or address comments to the bus driver in a disrespectful manner or refuse to cooperate with the driver. 2. Board and leave the bus at designated stops only. 3. Only students who are eligible to ride may be transported. Students must live more than 1/2 mile from their home school. 4. Students must ride their assigned bus. 5. Do not ask to ride home on another bus with a friend without written permission from parent AND a bus pass issued by the school office. 6. It is the responsibility of the parents to provide transportation to school if a child misses the bus. Be at the bus stop at least 5 minutes early to ensure not missing the bus. 7. Due to normal and sometimes extraordinary situations, buses can run late. Do not leave the bus stop or call until 15 minutes past the posted arrival time.

Car Rider Information AM Pre-K Drop off as early as 7:00 A.M in the front of school. When dropping off students, parents must stay in the car. The children will exit the car from the sight side of the car. Teachers and safety patrol will assist students. Be sure to stay in line close to the curb. All parents will need a green tag to show the name/grade of the child(ren) they will be picking up and grade level. REQUIRED: parents must have their car tag or they will have to park and come to the office to check child out. Safety matters All PM Pre-K students will be picked up at paw print #1,2,3 All parents must stay in the car when dropping off and picking up students. Teachers and safety patrol will assist students when getting in the car.

Transportation Changes
Please send a handwritten note in your child’s DAILY FOLDER if you need your child to change transportation. –teachers do not have time to check s/voic s during the day. If an emergency occurs, parents MUST call the front office prior to 2:00pm. Transportation changes are not made after 2:00pm.

PTA PTA supports the school, teachers and children by arranging volunteers, purchasing recess equipment, holding special assemblies, providing fieldtrips at no cost to students and much more. Joining PTA does NOT mean you have to participate or volunteer in any function/meeting.

Husky Bucks/Shopping Children will earn husky bucks throughout the week for various reasons. (appropriate behavior, following rules/directions, working independently, being a helper, trying their best etc.) Husky bucks can be taken away to reinforce consequences/rewards. Children will spend the husky bucks on Friday to purchase items from the classroom treasure box. Donations for treasure box is greatly appreciated! (no candy or food but rather bouncy balls, pencils, rings, cars, bubbles, etc.)

Birthdays Allowed - Store bought, peanut free cupcakes/cookies/donuts are allowed and will be eaten the last 10 minutes of class before dismissal. Not allowed – invitations cannot be handed out, gifts, balloons, party favors, treat bags, drinks, etc. Birthday Sign up List- Fill out the online form if you would like to be included on the classroom birthday list. List must only be used for contacting about birthdays.
