Anger in the Bible Anger is mentioned about 500X in the Bible. Most of those references refer to God’s anger over sin and injustice.

God’s Anger God is a righteous judge, a God who expresses his wrath everyday. (Psalm.7:11) The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he hold his anger forever. (Psalm103:8-9)

Christ’s Anger Matthew 21:12-13 Mark 11:15-18 Mark 3:5

Gary Collins “Many times people raised in Christian homes learn to repress rather than express their anger. They tend to deny that they feel angry because they mistakenly think anger is a sinful emotion.”

“The root cause of people keeping their anger all bottled up is almost always the same: As children they were extravagantly rewarded for the times when they were good, and sweet, and compliant, and cooperative. At the same time, they were severely reprimanded and punished any time they showed any expressions of anger. So they learned to keep their anger all bottled up. Expressing anger either got them nowhere, or worse, got them in trouble.”
