14 PRE-PRIMARY EDUCATION Pre-school education is compulsory and covers children who have not yet reached the age of entry to primary education.

19 TURKISH EDUCATION SYSTEM Primary Education The primary education program includes: Turkish language, mathematics, social studies, science, civics and human rights, the history of the Turkish Republic and Atatürk's reforms, music, art/handicraft, physical education a foreign language (English, French or German), individual and group activities, religious culture and ethics, traffic safety and first aid, career guidance, and elective courses.
