More pyrotechnics questions
Other Manufacturing Questions: What chemical did you use to create the colour of your firework? Why does that chemical produce the colour it does? Are there any safety issues related with using this chemical? Some compositions use nitrates and some use chlorates. What are the nitrates and chlorates used for? What is the difference between those two compounds in a composition? Also, potassium salts are used in all compositions. Sodium salts should react in a similar way to potassium, and would be cheaper, so why use potassium? Finally, how might the shaped fireworks, like smiley faces and stars be made? What keeps the stars in the right place in the sky? Safety Questions: What fire extinguisher would you need if a small fountain exploded in your office? What is a flowerpot (in pyrotechnic display jargon)? What code should be on a firework sold to the general public, in the UK? What is the ‘Fireworks Code’, in the UK?
