Transforming lives through education
Approximately One-third of all students receiving a high school credential in our community each year graduate from TECC. We are the primary High School Equivalency, Literacy Tutoring, and Immigrant services in Taos. Transforming lives through education The Taos Education and Career Center (TECC) is dedicated to providing adults, at least 16 years of age, with the essential academic, critical thinking, and professionalism skills required for success in college, careers, and daily living. We offer a safe and individualized learning environment in which students achieve their academic and career goals. We serve those, with or without a high school diploma, whose skills are below college-ready level.

INTEGRATED EDUCATION AND TRAINING
IET Academic Technical Simultaneous instruction of academic, career technical, and professionalism skills. The IET model is written into the Workforce Innovation & Opportunities Act (WIOA) in 2015. Professional

Professionalism Skills can be taught explicitly and learned at any age. They are the single biggest predictor of academic and career success. Adults learn better in context.

Elevate the academic, professionalism, and technical skills of underprepared workers and learners On-the-job training (OJT) and paid work-experience funding Tuition support for IET courses Integration of adult education, community college, and workforce dollars

INTEGRATED EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Local Employers served as guest teachers and helped design the curriculum to make it relevant for our community. Also serves as networking for students. BUILD A CAREER PATHWAY advanced certificates/degrees and job placement in a variety of positions: Construction & Installation, Site Operations & Maintenance, Business Operations, Sales & Design Academic Adult education teacher provides contextualized instruction Technical Solar Energy International OSHA Personal Protection Equipment Expertise in teaching students who struggle with reading, writing, and math Regular classroom guest speakers from local solar businesses and other industry specialists ProfessionalHands-on and Explicit Hands on training via site visits and group projects= great way to learn professionalism skills Explicit Professionalism Skills Workshops
