MAYOOR SCHOOL
4
INTRODUCTORY NOTE Honble Chairman and Board of Governors, Mayo College General Council, Ajmer Dear Sirs, Mayoor School was the first extension of the illustrious Mayo College, to provide quality education to the citizens of Ajmer. Over the years, caringly nurtured by the Mayo College General Council, Mayoor has grown into a leading co-ed day school of Ajmer. We have now entered a new millennium faced with a dramatically changing world. We face an inter-connected world, where the extent and easy availability of information requires its intelligent use. This is forcing schools to re-invent their curriculum, teaching methods and infrastructure.
5
Already new schools with new perspectives for the future are sprouting everywhere. These futuristic schools with their well-equipped, global infrastructure and powerful ideas on the role of new technology are becoming increasingly effective and attracting more pupils. It is only a matter of time when schools which do not shake off the years of making do and do not follow the school improvement route, will face declining numbers and income. With less income, they will be less able to compete, less able to renew their facilities, less able to provide for their teachers & pupils. However, at Mayoor we do not foresee such a scenario but at the same time we need to be prepared for stiff competition. The edge that we have over others today, will of course need to be constantly maintained so that we can remain the leaders in the field Parents are increasingly, judging the quality of each schools education system in terms of national and international benchmarks.
6
We, at Mayoor School, are committed to raising our standards to meet the demands in the 21 st Century. We have devised a roadmap that will put us on the pathway to the future. Our PATHFINDER PROJECT has at the heart, the objective of developing Mayoor School into THE BEST CO-ED DAY SCHOOL IN RAJASTHAN. It intends to turn Mayoor School into a powerhouse of improvement & development. It provides a concrete picture of how we can develop standards and work to redesign our school to enable it to achieve nationally and internationally benchmarked expectations. In this effort, I seek the Boards kind approval, suggestions and encouragement. Thanks

A study of the existing campus, with regard to available facilities and unutilized land, was conducted for better utilization and future development. Keeping in mind the proposed seven year plan of growth and development of the school, the architect has proposed this Master plan.
40
Salient Points of the Master Plan - The campus has been divided into a series of learning spaces as opposed to conventional classrooms. Clustering of various facilities into enclosures, will give students and staff a sense of belonging to a particular faculty, leading to the development of departments. - Decongestion of activities from the present structure for better utilization. - Controlling the linear expansion of the school buildings. - Reclaiming land by removal of underutilized, feeble structures
