Customer Needs Specifications Final Design Improvements Software to integrate current Excel Workbooks and Macros in a format usable by both Engineers and Operations. -Maintain data integrity. (No lost or unusable information) A master Excel Workbook that contained a user interface for both Engineers and Operations. The engineer interface contains macros which pull contract information from Dresser Rand’s inventory system and the macros developed to handle Station Assembly and Pick path optimization. -Eliminate risk of operators causing irreversible damage to data. -Allows Engineers to issue multiple contracts at the same time. -Consolidates current and newly developed scripts. Provide pickers with Station and Subassembly destinations for each item picked. -100% correct association between parts, quantities, and destinations. A set of Standard Work templates, which highlight assembly information and the part-station relationship required for pick list, and Excel macros to retrieve this information. The Standard Work templates are developed for each contract type by Engineers, while the software is integrated into the Contract Kitting workbook. -Enables picking operations to sort each picked item based on their assembly area. This aids the kitting process. Automatically sort Pick Tickets for the pickers. -Route picker to 100% of pick locations. -Minimal back tracking. -Minimal aisle repeats. A script within the Contract Kitting workbook utilizes the Closest Insertion algorithm to identify a valid path for Operators to follow while picking with the goal of minimizing distance traveled. The script is fed the locations of each item to be picked, a distance matrix is referenced, and a rank if produced in which order items should be picked. -Eliminates need to manually sort tickets once they have been printed. -Pick order is based on tour to minimize distance traveled. Software developed must not be time intensive. Run/computational time is less than 30 seconds (integration) or 1 minute (routing). -Met . -Allows engineers to perform several operations quickly. Software developed must not be memory intensive. File sizes smaller than 25,000KB. -Met. -Minimal impact to local memory resources.
