THE NUTRITION HEALTH BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION FOR CONTROLLING HYPERTENSION AT RUAMJAIPATTANA COMMUNITY BANGKOK Boonsri Kittichottipanich1 , Poosadee Prommete2, Namthip Martkoksoong3 Nursing and Health College, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, Thailand

2 Introduction Hypertension is a chronic non-communicable disease which is a major public health problem in the world, including Thailand. Most people with high blood pressure have symptoms though blood pressure shows at a high level.

3 Introduction Thailand has a hypertensive people about 11 million, and more than 3,000 people who need to be admitted to the hospital with severe hypertension, and increasing in 10 years ago.

4 Objective of this study
To increase Self-efficacy, self-regulation and self care behaviors to control and prevention of hypertension

5 Methodology Using Participatory Action Research (PRA) with 100 purposive sampling at Ruamjaipattana Community Bangkok, who at risk for high blood pressure. The Participatory Action Research (PRA) in 12 weeks between March to May

6 Methodology The program consist of participatory learning how to controlling dietary daily eating by Increasing 3 S : Self efficacy , Self regulation and self-care for controlling and prevention of hypertension.

9 The result After the program:
The health indicators were changed in a better direction. The participant had higher score in their health behavior (Self-efficacy), Self- regulation and Self-care better than before the program: at 93, 95 and 96 percent of participants respectively.

10 The result After the program: Health indicator were changed in a better direction : 67 percent decrease blood pressure, 51 percent weight loss and decrease of BMI 97 percent were satisfied in this program

11 Conclusion The experience in group connection and lessons learned from interviewing will be a good practical results.

12 Recommendations This project is an alternative to be used to promote the daily nutritional health behavior for prevention and controlling of high blood pressure.

13 The key Successful projects:
- the cooperation of participants, - a variety of activities that highlight that encourage participants knew how to use in daily eating and practice.
