Download the Executive Order Reading on my website under today’s date and answer the following questions on a post-it: 1. What is the advantage of a President issuing an executive order? 2. 5 What is an Executive Order?
A rule or order issued by the president to an executive branch of the government and having the force of law. How does this go against the idea of checks and balances?

6 How is an Executive Order Subject to Judicial Review?
Executive order must either relate to how the executive branch operates or exercise an authority delegated to the president by Congress. Congress can pass legislation to invalidate the action taken in an executive order.  Executive orders are also subject to judicial review

7 What is the State of the Union Address?
A yearly address delivered each January by the president of the US to Congress Purpose: Opportunity for the President to highlight accomplishments in the past year while outlining what the administration hopes to do in the year to come.
