Sent by Continental Congress to King George III Stated… Colonies still loyal to the king Asked the king to call off hostilities until the situation could be worked out peacefully

August 22, 1775 – King issues the Proclamation for Suppressing Rebellion and Sedition Said the colonies were now “open and avowed enemies” It is full scale war now!!!
