7 Funded by the US Department of Transportation Materials developed to let students know about careers in transportation (TDL) and to encourage them to follow a related career US DOT recognizes a shortage in the transportation workforce

8 The goal is to expose students to a wide variety of careers in transportation and to encourage them to follow a related career Modules have a common theme related to some aspect of transportation and all are related to math, science, English, or social studies Teachers in 6 states are involved, and are tied to departments of education and both the public and private sector

18 Old age and dilapidation has taken its toll on a bridge spanning a special regulation trout fishing area in a pristine river. The bridge was completed in 1903 and has great historical significance to the development of early townships in the area. There is growing public debate as to whether the bridge should be repaired or replaced. If replaced, then a temporary bridge/roadway will be created to divert traffic during construction. Your are a member of a local transportation planning committee that has been tasked with conducting a feasibility study to determine the most appropriate action to take regarding the repair or replacement of the historic bridge.

23 Engineering of the bridge or crane operator Engineering would be interesting because you could design the bridge and you could build it. Crane operator would be interesting also, lifting beams into place. -Kyle S.
