Oarfish are large, greatly elongated fish, found in all moderateto tropical oceans yet rarely seen. One of these, the giant oarfish is the longest bony fish alive, growing up to 11 m (36 ft) in length. Paedocypris is found in swamps and streams on the Southeast Asian islands of Borneo, Sumatra and Bintan. It has has been claimed to be the smallest known species of fish in the world. The smallest mature female measured 7.9 mm and the largest known individual was 10.3 mm.
