The agreements with UKOU provide AOU with opportunities to tap into learning resources of high quality standards for certain programs of study, offered by the institution. In addition, they allow the AOU, via consultancy arrangements, to benefit from vast accumulated experience at the UKOU.

Educational Materials & Educational Technology (EMET)

Responsibilities: 1- Direct supervision of educational materials used by the university as providing printing, shipping, storage, and the follow-up in coordination with various departments and the central pillars and all branches of the university, according to university academic plans.

2- The production of the Arab Open University educational materials in terms of graphic design, text layout, language editing, and oversee high quality of printing. 3- Reprints educational materials of the British Open University, which has been licensed to be used by the Arab Open University with outstanding quality, and update supporting material indexing it in the form of student studying packages.

4- Contracted and supervise manufacturing requirements of studying packages and tools such as different kinds of files, dividers, plastic boxes, and any other tools according to precise specifications.

5- Provide University branches with all courses supplementary material that been done by the program's dean in electronic format to be reproduced locally, except Kuwait branch where, the supporting material printed and packaged within the courses packages.

6- Contracted and supervise coping and supply of multi-media materials including video, audio, CD, DVD, and computer applications, to support self- learning taking into account the differences of individual learning style and abilities.

7- Produce multi-media support to the Arabic language programs (audio and visual materials) in high standards of quality control.

8- Completing the educational materials and (indexing) in the form of student packages, stored centralized, and then transfer the quantities required for each branch (by air, sea and land) according to the academic plan every semester.

9- The application of quality standards and procedures on the steps followed in the preparation, production and printing and packaging, shipping, and storing of educational materials in different kinds of patterns, each stage prior to use by students.

10- Supervision and follow-up on the processing of learning resource centers at the university branches in order to meet the needs of the implementation for effective application of the University's programs in the context of human and material resources available, in a way that guarantees benefit from technology in the organization of education and learning resources.

11- Supervision of the central system of educational materials warehouse and associated stores at university branches to ensure that materials stored in safe, organized, and documented way in order to determine the quantity of educational materials required for each branch to be reprint, import, and manufactured, in order to be distributed to students on dates and quantities required on the highest level of accuracy.

12- Cover all educational material and technology requirements for Kuwait branch in terms of copy and binding supplementary materials and TMAs, and support testing by coping and autocorrecting, throughout the semester.
