2. Surah Al-Qadr In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Indeed, We sent the Qur’an during the Night of Decree
And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.
The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.
Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.

3. Lessons from Surah Al- Qadr
Al-Quran was first sent down during the Night of Decree (Lailatulqadr) in the month of Ramadhan.
This surah is named “al-Qadr” as it discusses about the glory and greatness of the Night of Decree.
The numerous angels that came down signifies the huge blessings and mercy of that night
Rasulullah s.a.w. said, “Whoever prayed during the Night of Decree sincerely and seeks forgiveness from Allah, his past sins will be forgiven.”

4. Reason Behind The Revelation
Ayah 1-3: Narrated by Ibnu Jarir and obtained from Mujahid that among the Banu Israil a man loves to perform night prayers till dawn and fight against the enemies during the day which was done for a thousand months. Then Allah s.w.t. revealed the ayah to affirm that the Night of Decree is better a thousand nights of worship.
