Biographic Information
22
Schools Attended You’ll need to order a transcript from each post secondary school you’ve taken courses at to go directly to AMCAS, and also for yourself so you can see exactly how courses are listed. You will list each school in the “Schools Attended” section. For a school at which you studied abroad please note:
23
Study Abroad If your Study Abroad Program was affiliated with a US or Canadian school, and your credits were transferred back to Dartmouth, you will fill in the info about location and name of school, choose study abroad, and then choose Transcript Exemption ie: you don’t need a separate transcript from the school. When you enter courses for that program you will enter them in the section you created for that school FROM your Dartmouth transcript. If your program was a self standing program ie: a ‘branch” of a US school, or a program that did not transfer (w/ grades) then you do need a separate transcript.
24
To send Offical Transcript from Dartmouth Registrar
You will have both an AMCAS ID# and an AMCAS Transcript ID# Go to Dartmouth Registrar site to order: E Transcript easy/efficient, though paper OK. If Current Undergrad, select “official transcript from menu If alum or student w/out banner access: Log into Transcript Request Page. Read ordering instructions. Request E transcript Enter your AAMC and AAMC Transcript ID’s! Follow instructions from registrar at any other school attended (exception, see Study Abroad)
25
Course Work
26
Course Work Applicants should use a personal copy of their official transcript to complete this section.
27
Course Classifications
28
4. Course Work DARTMOUTH APPLICANTS! You should also have a copy of your official transcript to complete this section If during AMCAS verification, AMCAS disagrees with classification you can submit an Academic Change Request and supporting material (ie: course description and possibly syllabus. It’s up to you to do so. You have two weeks from the time you are notified. Use a copy of your official transcript(s) to complete this section. AMCAS may send back any applications that have 10 or more omissions and this may delay processing. You can no longer edit once you submit, but while filling out app, can go back and edit anytime. NRO? Use Pass/Fall!!!
29
VERY IMPORTANT FOR DARTMOUTH STUDENTS
YOU will designate ALL Dartmouth Courses as ONE credit. AMCAS knows to shift our credits appropriately.IE: DURING verification, each regular class will be designated as 3.3 hours and each lab, AMCAS does the translation! You must USE OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT ONLY for how to write in each class. Use exact wording on transcript.
30
SPECIFIC FOR DARTMOUTH STUDENTS
At Dartmouth: Writing 5 AND Freshman Seminar can be classified as ENGLISH If a Neuroscience course has neuro in title you may classify it as Bio. If it is very science-y you can consider classifying it as Bio but AMCAS may pause verification if they disagree—giving you the chance to send them a course description and syllabus. IF so, do it ASAP so as not to have your verification on hold.
31
Work/Activities Maximum of 15 entries
Applicants can enter 3 additional date ranges for repeated activities Maximum of 3 “Most Meaningful”
32
Letters of Evaluation Applicants Most Often submit their application before AMCAS receives their letters!!! Composite Letter=Committee Letter For Alumni who graduated 3 or more years before application please consult with HPP office about some possible differences in letter process. Usually Letter Packet or Individual Do Not send an AMCAS letter request form if working with Dartmouth HPP office. DO print it off and keep the letter ID # however.
