2. PURPOSE
In 2011, the Department of Education implemented Gainful Employment regulations, which included a requirement to report data on students pursuing diploma and certificate programs.
Colleague now is able to meet the 22 reporting requirements for the July 31, 2015 deadline.

5. System Preparation for GE Patches
Gainful Employment reporting requirements process will calculate and process a large amount of data at one time.
Work File ST.GE.WORK is not always sized properly as delivered.
This file may need to be resized prior to users utilizing the GE patches.

7. Before You Begin
Update Eligibility and Certification Approval Report (E-CAR)
College must determine which programs meet the definition of Gainful Employment and update the E-CAR prior to offering financial aid for programs on campus.
Update Staff and Volunteers
College staff must collaborate to determine which office will be responsible for running report and submitting file. Staff and Volunteers (SVM) record for the primary and secondary processor must be updated to include access to ALL privacy codes, i.e., E, X, and D.

National Student Clearinghouse (NSC)?
Sign and submit addendum to Clearinghouse agreement
IMPORTANT: You must sign/return the addendum, even if you used Clearinghouse GE reporting in the past.
Confirm clearinghouse TG number (66398) is assigned to your school’s GE reporting via FSA web enroll

All patches must be installed to ensure the NSLDS file format is correct
The file(s) should be named to clearly identify your school code and what year or years are included
Submit file via regular FTP process
Due no later than July 31, 2015
For GE programs, report years beginning 2008/2009 through 2013/2014.
For MDGE programs, report years 2007/2008 through 2013/2014.
2014/2015 award year is due by October 1, 2015
