Changes to Ukrainian immigration rules July 19, 2018

On April 25, 2018 the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted two Resolutions that introduce a game changing rules in issuing of Ukrainian immigration documents These Regulations came into effect starting from June 01, 2018 No. 321 “On approval of the Specimen, the Technical Description of the Blank, and the Procedure for Issuing, Exchanging, Cancelation, Transferring, Withdrawing, Returning to the State, Cancellation, and Elimination of the Permanent Residence Permits” No. 322 “On approval of the Specimen, the Technical Description of the Blank, and the Procedure for Issuing, Exchange, Cancellation, Transfer, Withdrawal, Returning to the State, Cancellation, and Elimination of Temporary Residence Permits” What to expect? 19 July 2018

New specimen of Residence Permits
Going forward, TRPs will be issued in form plastic (ID) cards instead of passport- style documents and will contain a biometric chip. Existing TRPs of a paper format will remain to be in force for their remaining validity term 19 July 2018

Application processing terms
10 calendar days TRPs applications will be processed within 15 business days instead of 10 calendar days which was a previous processing term Foreign nationals will need to submit their TRP applications at least 15 business days prior to the expiry date/deadline of their legal stay in Ukraine, instead of 10 calendar days as it was previously 15 business days 19 July 2018

Authorities where it should be possible to apply for a residence permit
State Migration Service of Ukraine Centres for Administrative Services Provision that are established at Local municipal bodies State Enterprises that are established and operate under a supervision of the State Migration Service of Ukraine 19 July 2018

Minor dependants' immigration compliance
Children under 16 years old accompanying assignees will be eligible for separate TRPs 19 July 2018
