May 2019 Quarterly Members’ Survey - Summary Findings of Latest Data* We had a low response to this month’s survey and the Chair and Vice Chair will look into this. Neverheless we have some data from 5 of our business members to report. * Data is from February 2019 There have been some big changes in the trends of the data collected this quarter. Whilst this may be down to the low number of responses, we would recommend to the ESB that resource be allocated to a re-run of the survey by the LEP. If correct and part of a longer term swing, these changes would have a significant impact on the Skills Agenda. 2

6 Forum Organisation, Membership and Summary of Activities
Talent Forum Report – May 2019 Forum Organisation, Membership and Summary of Activities We now have a rotating guest chair every 6 months from our membership – during 2018 Julie Williams, HR Director of Wescot Credit Services Limited, and Kevin Patterson, HR Director of MKM have chaired the group. The most recent approved Terms of Reference for our Forum outline the format of our meetings and the importance that members take away information, best practice ideas that are useful to them at each meeting. We also are a forum to discuss ideas and gain feedback so presentations are limited to 15 minutes with the opportunity to engage with members via Q&A. The Forum will continue to meet quarterly in 2019. In 2018 we have supported Forum members via: Collective redundancy support for outplaced employees from Vivergo Fuels Engaging with the University of Hull 50+ Study Learning about best Practice in Employee Wellbeing from colleagues at Victoria Plum Highlighted good practice in Talent Acquisition Highlighted an opportunity for joint promotion of the region’s employers which will be explored further in 2019 We have also provided quarterly reports on skills gaps and possible interventions to the Employment & Skills Board Having refreshed the format of our meetings and Terms of Reference over the past 6 months, the Outgoing Chair Kevin Patterson, Vice Chair, Dan Rowan and Supporting Chair, Kate van der Sluis will look to refresh the membership list in the first quarters of 2019 and provide this information to the LEP and ESB to update all records/websites. – This is still to be actioned. Our aim as a Forum is to maintain a balanced membership, to include all of the region’s major sectors, both public and private sector, and to cap membership at 30 individuals to ensure that all have opportunity to participate and contribute to a discussion. The next meeting of the Forum will take place in May The Forum Chair, Kevin Patterson, will complete his term at this meeting and members of the Forum are currently being asked to volunteer for the role. Interested parties should contact Kevin or Teresa Chalmers at the LEP. 5
