9. FY 2008 President Bush’s Budget
On February 5, 2007 President Bush released his budget for FY 2008
The Administration proposes a 50% cut in funding for the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act education programs
The Administration also proposed elimination of Tech Prep funds within the Perkins Act

Department of Education funded at $56 billion (huge cut)
Department of Education budget would eliminate or consolidate a total of 45 programs
Department of Labor budget cut as well
