PIT treatment on chronic elbow pain TNBJ Wanders; Product Manager and PT at Zimmer MedizinSysteme Introduction Case report Post treatment results PIT (pulsed inductive therapy) is intended for medical purposes that repeatedly contracts muscles and promotes restoration of neuromuscular control. Used device: Zimmer MedizinSysteme emFieldPro; a 2 channel PIT with a maximum energy output of 3Tesla The aim of this case report is to inform about the treatment method and results on a chronic muscular abnormality. Patient information Patients explains as following: ROM in ellbow: major improvement, no limitations any more VAS after 3 treatments in 2 weeks: from 7 to 0. No pain any more. Patient considers herself as 100% cured Age/Gender 57 years / Female BF 1,72; 68kg PMH None History several shockwave sessions with minor improvement Summary Clinical examination In this case it was showed that shockwave wasn‘t an efficient treatment, although the clinical proven background. Only 3 PIT treatments were a sufficient and effective treatment for this patient to become fit again. Examination ellbow (R) ROM: severely limited due to pain. VAS before PIT : 7 Treatment Start of treatment May 26th Since 3 weeks; 2 x p/w: A17: Acute ellbow pain Energy level on program: tolerable, around 60% Images are only meant as a treatment example
