Climate – is the average weather in a location over a long period of time.
Two things are considered:
Precipitation
Temperature
A place that does not get much rain over many years would have a dry climate.

3. What influences Climate?

4. Climate Latitude – most important! The distance from the equator.
High latitudes = cold
Low latitudes = warm

Altitude – the higher you go up the cooler the temperature.

6. Climate
Ocean currents – as surface currents move, they carry warm or cool water. This affects the temperature of the air above it.
Warm currents = warmer weather
Cold currents = cooler weather
