Fig 1 (A) A chest computed tomography scan revealed a round-shaped enlargement of the lower anterior mediastinal lymph node. (B) Positron emission tomography showed an abnormal accumulation of 2-fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose in the lymph node. (C) Chest computed tomography scans also revealed a second lesion at the upper anterior mediastinum. (D) Positron emission tomography scans demonstrated an abnormal accumulation of 2-fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose in the second lesion. Fig 2 (A) Histopathologic examination of resected tumor (hematoxylin and eosin; original magnification, ×200) demonstrated a poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma. (B) Immunohistochemical analyses (original magnification, ×40) revealed positive staining in cytokeratin-7 and (C) negative staining in cytokeratin-20 and (D) thyroid transcription factor-1.
