Write down your favorite thing about fall and include your birthday on the back!!!

3. T-shirts and Dues
Money for t-shirts and dues will need to be turned in at the end of the day Wednesday

4. Twitter Follow us @ _BurkeNHS
Send us pictures when you’re volunteering so we can put it on our twitter and that can vouch for your volunteer hours if you are unable to get a signature

5. Missing a Meeting
Always fill out a Missing a Meeting (MAM) slip when you have missed the monthly meeting

6. Website
To get to our website you can go to the Burke Website > ACTIVITIES > National Honor Society
There you will find hours sheets and missing a meeting forms as well as all the PowerPoints for each meeting so you can always refer back to them!

7. Dog toy making day Where: Here in IC-1
When: September 11th and 12th 3:15 -4
Bring old t-shirts you don’t want and we will be making dog toys to donate to the humane society!

8. Buffett Youth Frontiers Retreat
Kindness and Courage retreat for 5th and 7th graders at Buffett Middle School
Volunteers act as mentors and lead small groups
September 26th and 27th (choose one date)
Approximately 7:45 – 2:30
Please fill out a permission slip to go since it is during the school day

9. Walk for the animals
The Nebraska Humane Society is having a walk for the animals
When: September 30th 9am – 3pm
Where : Nebraska Humane Society, 8929 fort street
We will have 2 shifts
9am – 12pm & 12pm – 3pm
Volunteers will help set up and take down and will help with crowd control
ONLY HAVE 12 SPOTS AVAILABLE – First come first serve

10. Hot Cider Hustle
Half marathon and 5k benefitting the Chron’s and Colitis Foundation
Free t-shirt
Free food
Where: Skutt High School
When: Sunday, October 21st
Time: 6:45am-12pm

11. Picnic We will be having our first event of the year, A PICNIC
Where: Standing Bear Lake (Fort street Entrance)
When: September 5th from 6pm to 8pm
This will count for one of the event hours that you need
We will be providing pizza and some snack but please feel free to bring other food items to contribute if you would like.

12. Superintendent’s Town Hall Meeting
The new superintendent of OPS Cheryl Logan is having a town hall meeting designed just for students!
Where: The Teacher Administration Center (TAC) located at 3215 Coming Street
When: September 6th from 5:30pm to 6:30 pm
Come and represent our NHS chapter with us!
