2. ALICE is NOT a linear, progressive response.
A.L.I.C.E. provides options for individuals in the event of a violent attack.
Alert, notify authorities and those in harm’s way of the danger at hand.
Lockdown, or shelter in place.
Inform, give real-time updates.
Counter, defend yourself against the attacker as a last resort.
Evacuate, or get out!!

3. The ALICE training model includes instructional and hands-on elements.
Joint effort between HCS and HPD.
HPD – 3 certified trainers
HCS – 2 certified trainers
Training began in November of 2014 and has been an ongoing effort ever since.
Training includes presentation for each element, visual aids, and live scenarios to assess competency.

4. HCS prepares for a variety of emergencies, with emphasis on violent intruder training.
Schools are required to conduct three intruder drills through the school year.
A.L.I.C.E. techniques have been used by employees during drills.
We have seen practical application of the training during real lockdowns.
