2 ALICE is NOT a linear, progressive response.
A.L.I.C.E. provides options for individuals in the event of a violent attack. Alert, notify authorities and those in harm’s way of the danger at hand. Lockdown, or shelter in place. Inform, give real-time updates. Counter, defend yourself against the attacker as a last resort. Evacuate, or get out!! ALICE is NOT a linear, progressive response.

3 The ALICE training model includes instructional and hands-on elements.
Joint effort between HCS and HPD. HPD – 3 certified trainers HCS – 2 certified trainers Training began in November of 2014 and has been an ongoing effort ever since. Training includes presentation for each element, visual aids, and live scenarios to assess competency.

4 HCS prepares for a variety of emergencies, with emphasis on violent intruder training.
Schools are required to conduct three intruder drills through the school year. A.L.I.C.E. techniques have been used by employees during drills.
