2 What is Web 2.0? Basically the 2nd generation of the World Wide Web
Allows for more collaboration and sharing of information rather than just static web pages Often called the “Read/Write” web Examples include blogs and wikis, plus social networking and video/photo sharing sites and more

3 Why Use Web 2.0? Great way to get students engaged and motivated in practicing writing skills Great tools to create ongoing conversations among students Creates “always on” learning communities that extend beyond the classroom

Corporate web sites No collaboration involved Dynamic pages that are constantly being changed and updated Allows for real-time collaboration outside of the classroom
