New Functions “Start class” button before the class
Teachers need to press start at the beginning of class When can students see or hear each other? Only the students dragged onto the screen can be seen and heard by other students. Split Screen Function Students will have their own slide to interact with. Teacher should be able to manage all students’ screens. Teacher should be able to share an individual student’s screen with the class. Sample flow/sequence: -Turn on split screen -Finish split screen -Share individual students screen 15 minutes “Start class” button before the class At the beginning of class all students will enter and be put on the screen by default. You can interact with them and ask questions. They can see and hear each other. When it’s time to start class you will need to click the ‘start class’ button at class start time MANUALLY and students will be removed from the screen automatically. At this point they will only be able to see and hear the teacher. Students will only be able to see and hear each other when you drag their window onto the screen individually, or if you press the ‘Select all’ button in the teachers window. (Demonstrate through classroom (shared screen)) The split screen function is the one most teachers will need to practice to get well at using. Otherwise most of the other functions are the same as 1v4 class. In the split screen, students will have their own slide to interact with. Teacher should be able to manage all students’ screens. (Demonstrate with video) Teacher should be able to share an individual student’s screen with the class.(after split the screen) Understand flow (1. demo 2. turn on split screen/ end split screen/share individual students screen) (demonstrate) Keep in mind you should address the class and not individual students. This will take some preparation

Pay attention to the teaching notes to stay on track, timewise
Teaching Guide Pay attention to the teaching notes to stay on track, timewise 1v0 tag: Kids aren’t on the screen. Teacher should say ‘Everyone’ when introducing vocabulary/new language 1v2 tag: Put 2 students on the screen. Good for modeling activities and pair practice 1v3 tag: Put 3 students on the screen. For free talk activities or interaction 1vAll tag: Put all Ss on the screen. Greeting, song, goodbye. All students interact Anticipate mistakes and know how you will correct students in each activity 15-20 minutes Time is important. If you are new to the lesson, you may struggle staying on time. Please follow the slide notes to help keep you on track. Each slide note will have tags labelled 1v0, 1v2, 1v3, or 1vAll (You can show where in the slide notes this tag is located) 1v0: Don't put Ss on the PPT.(In this scenario, teacher should not call each student's name, since students couldn't see nor hear other students. Teacher should address "Everyone“, not individual students, or it will look strange to the students, who can only see you) 1v1?: One student is on the screen and can demonstrate an activity (show video clip if available) 1v2 tag: Put 2 students on the screen. Good for modeling activities and pair practice (show video clip if available) 1v3 tag: Put 3 students on the screen. For free talk activities or interaction (show video clip if available) 1vAll tag: Put all Ss on the screen. Greeting, song, goodbye. All students interact (show video clip if available) Anticipate mistakes and know how you will correct students in each activity
