2. What is personification?
Personification is a figurative speech where human qualities are given to animals,objects, or ideas.

1.The avalanche devoured everything in its path It’s saying that the avalanched devoured everything and devoured is a human qualities.

Taken from Act I, Scene II of “Romeo and Juliet”. “When well-appareled April on the heel Of limping winter treads.” April cannot put on a dress, and winter does not limp.

Katherine Mansfield wrote in her story “How Pearl Button Was Kidnapped”. “Pearl Button swung on the little gate in front of the House of Boxes.It was the early afternoon of a sunshiny day with little winds playing hide-and-seek in it.” It’s personifies the wind playing hide and seek.
