Underground structures in conveyance system built with access hatches
Subject to vehicle traffic
Over time, hatches and supporting concrete structure deteriorate and could fail
Failed structure is safety hazard to pedestrian and vehicular traffic

3. Project Purpose Restore integrity of 6 structures Locations:
S. 27th St. and W. Howard Ave.
N. 59th St. and W. State St.
W. Hampton Ave., west of N. 31st St.
Near 3013 S. 35th St.
S. 1st St. and W. Lincoln Ave.
Near 3099 W. Hopkins St.

5. Project Scope Remove concrete from top of structure
Reconstruct top of structure
Install new precast concrete cover
Restore pavement around structure
