FIRST CONTINENTAL CONGRESS
1. In September of 1774 there was a meeting held by 56 colonial delegates in Philadelphia to discuss the crisis in Boston. What was this meeting called? FIRST CONTINENTAL CONGRESS

Considered to be the first shot fired during the American Revolution between the minutemen and British troops in Lexington, Massachusetts. Nobody knows who fired it.

7. What did the British find when they finally arrived in Concord?
They found few weapons because the colonists had removed them. And what did the British do? In anger they started burning buildings

Lets us go back in time to see how the young people of the colonies might have helped in this time of crisis and then compare that to historical documentation of Paul Revere and William Dawes’s ride and the battles at Lexington and Concord.

10. The leaders of the Congress had to decide how to react to the fighting. They decided not to break away from Great Britain. The Congress did make plans to create a Continental Army to defend the colonies and chose Virginian George Washington to command this army.
