The past simple is often formed by adding - ed to the verb (regular verbs) EXAMPLES: work stay clean worked stayed cleaned arrive start dance arrived started danced

SPELLING: 1. Regular verbs ending in -e add -d. Ex:

Example: Some verbs are irregular. These verbs do NOT end with – ed.

EXAMPLES: I didn’t watch television last night. She didn’t play with her friends yesterday. We didn’t eat at Burger King. He didn’t go to the cinema last week. They didn’t get up early.

Wh- + did + subject + verb?
For QUESTIONS we use: Did + subject + verb ? OR Wh- + did + subject + verb? Examples: Did you sell your car? Did you speak to your friend yesterday? Did she write a letter last night? Where did you go last week?

SHORT ANSWERS: I / we / you / they he / she / it Yes, did.
No, didn’t.
