2 BE PREPARED Schools are one of the safest places to be!
Just like we practice in case of fire or earthquake, we need to be prepared in case there is an intruder who comes to our school to do harm.

3 Essential Vocabulary Intruder-Someone without permission to be at our school Teacher-Any adult in charge at the moment Harm-To hurt someone

4 BE PREPARED The most important thing to do is listen to your teacher and follow their directions. If there is an intruder in your building, your teacher may ask you to run or hide. To protect you, your teacher may have to fight the intruder.

5 RUN Your teacher may ask you to RUN away from danger,
Listen and follow your teachers’ directions,

6 HIDE Your teacher may need you to HIDE from the intruder.
Listen and follow your teachers’ directions. This process is similar to a lockdown that you have practiced. This situation could happen anywhere in your building or campus: gym, lunchroom, playground or classroom, hallway, or bathroom

7 FIGHT Your teacher may try to protect you by fighting the intruder.
Listen and follow your teacher’s directions. Don’t try to help unless your teacher gives you instructions to do so.

8 REMEMBER Schools are one of the safest places you can be.
Your teachers and administrators are trained to protect you. Listen to their instructions!
