Choice - colleges may:

Xap keeps up to date through the open source project governed by the steering committee.
Move to a hosted instance of OpenCCCApply
Develop custom OpenCCCApply based applications
or have more choices as commercial SIS vendors may make available the OpenCCCApply open source application to their college student web portals.

A Streamlined Transition - minimize the affect on IT
