Few companies understand the importance of starting a fully BEE Transport company. We currently have a collaboration with various businesses to ensure we grow and understand the role women play in the Transport and Logistics industries We are under the armpits of Transport Forum which is a Special Interest Group.

TWIT OPPORTUNITIES With green business we also have opportunities offered by other business Big businesses within the bus and trucking industry has opportunities for companies within TWIT to be accessed from training to dealerships. Provincial membership: currently have a high membership in the Gauteng (Tshwane)and would like to increase the database so as to be able to do business to business with other provinces. Volvo has opportunities to empower women as truck/bus drivers Nondweni Bus Services also empowers youth and women owned bus operators in the scholar transport.

Experience through Transport Forum
Compliance is key to build a network with other businesses Collaborations with various departments and private sector (PPP) will help SMMEs to create jobs and alleviating poverty through empowerment programmes Access to funding for capital projects that both South African government and other SADC projects will help with cross-border businesses Contracts with other established bus services eg. Putco, Areyeng, Nondweni as BEE partners for especially scholar transport assisting in the growth and skills transfer to new bus services entrants. From the Transnet side where we look at under utilised lines and terminals be accessed by women and youth owned business. While SEZ are busy with construction of HUBS we need to establish a relationship with those areas to access business opportunities in those areas.

ACCESS TO FUNDING Accessing funding from a woman perspective can really be a nightmare. However, we never despair or gave up as there are organisations willing to take us under their wings. DBSA IDC

SMARTER OPPORTUNITIES
With smater cities mobility summit coming up we have more opportunities in that the technologies used by various transporters or manufacturers are there to be accessed so as to establish ourselves and preparations for use of technologies upgraded.
