Review and finalize Main Classifications (MC) and Sub-classifications
Select members of the Scientific Program Committee (SPC)
SPCC/2 – January 16-17, 2019
Agree to synoptic table
Select invited orals from those proposed by SPCC / SPC / OC
Select Opening/Closing plenary topics/speakers
Discuss Industry and Special Session speakers
SPCC/3 – June 14-15, 2019
Select contributed orals from submitted abstracts
Select Session Chairs
Finalize any outstanding program issues
May have an early review of contributed abstracts (?April?) to facilitate visa applications

3. NAPAC Goals
NAPAC is a US domestic conference aimed at students, postdocs, technicians, engineers, and early career scientists who may have limited approval for foreign travel. The character of the meeting is different from IPAC with attendance of ~500 people and ~100 students.
Goals:
Provide a broad view of AS&T with updates current advances
Provide opportunity for early career members of the field to discuss their work and engage with more senior researchers
Provide educational opportunities new members of the field
Provide an opportunity to develop new contacts and strengthen existing collaborations

8. Other issues Abstract re-categorization – should address this early
Late abstracts – only know of one additional one but …
CERN – Discussion at IPAC’19 was good however the impact for us is less clear. Hopefully, less of an issue in the future.
DPB thesis prize – DPB EC first ignored questions reqarding time for awards and then stated that they did not want space for a prize/award; now want space for a talk. Asking us to fit something in for the Thesis prize. IEEE awards get 12+3 minutes.

10. Abstract categories Lots of cathode abstracts. Where do they go?
In addition, there are 12 cathode or gun related abstracts in MC2 and another 15 in MC3
Some of these are focused on specific electron linacs (LCLS-II, BNL, UED) and some
are more abstract. I tried to roughly catagorize them below with a suugestion of how to allocate.
The allocate roughly keeps the same number of abstracts in each MC2 and MC3 however there are
some photocathode programs that are clearly aimed at FELs now in MC3.
