Fig 1 Plasma amyloid β42 (Aβ42) and amyloid β40 (Aβ40) levels (in pmol/L) before surgery and postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD). The lines indicate the median levels of Aβ42 and Aβ40. Twenty-eight of the 40 patients (70%) who had postoperative cognitive dysfunction at 3 months were below the median values for either Aβ42 or Aβ40 and 26 (65%) of patients were below the median values for both Aβ42 and Aβ40.
