Do Now: Vote on viewing a classic film (students will choose one of the following: To Kill a Mockingbird, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, or Forrest Gump). Objective: Students will be able to identify our semester’s themes in a classic film.

Objective:: Students will be able to identify our semester’s themes of the importance of education and the pursuit of the American Dream in a classic film. Agenda A.) Do Now: Vote on a classic film (based on the teacher’s brief synopsis). B.) Film Viewing: Answer the following questions: How is one of the semester’s themes (the importance of education or the pursuit of the American Dream) revealed in a classic film? How can you compare/contrast the film to Fences or The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass? How would you evaluate the film thus far?
