Numbers Warm-up (5 minutes)
C1 - Data Management 3rd-4th 1 hour Transforming decimal numbers into decimal fractions; Sorting fractions on the line of numbers. A board with decimal numbers, from 0.1 to 10 Bingo cardboards showing fractions disposed in the line of numbers. Warm-up (5 minutes) Brainstorming: Teacher asks the pupils if they know Bingo and the way to play it. She collects the answers. First step: Introduction of the game The teacher introduces the game Bingo. She explains that this is a special Bingo because numbers are not natural numbers from 1 to 90, but they are decimals from 0.1 to 10. Teacher shows the board and hag it on the wall. Second step: (5 minutes): Distribution of the cardboards and brainstorming. Teacher distributes one cardboard to each pupils. She explains that this game has further peculiarities regarding the cardboards, and she asks pupils to observe the cardboard and find out which is the difference between this one and the traditional Bingo. After collecting the answers, the teacher summarizes that numbers on the cardboard are written on a line number in ascending order, and that they represent the same value of the ones reported on the board, but they are expressed in decimal fractions. Third step: Playing the game. Teacher chooses a dealer which will pull out manually, one by one, the tiles which are numbered from 0.1 to 10. The bag containing the tiles is continuously scrambled. Teacher tells that the winner is the player who first covers all fractions on the cardboard. Children start to play.

I will press each number (1, 2, 3, 4) to show you the question. You will have 90 minutes to discuss and discover the right answer and add it to the “Points Sheet”. You will answer one question at a time, and after we find out the correct answer, the points will be awarded to each team. Each group will have to write the correct answer in the program. For each correct answer the group receive 25 points and for each wrong answer the group receive 0 points. Make the same process for each question. After answering all the questions, the teacher can make another poll with different themes, by pressing “New Poll” button. The group that gets more points wins.
