Deployment constraints
Transportation of military equipment in a stressed international situation. The movements of the equipment are extremely time critical. Therefore, it is very important to follow the timings, neither later nor sooner. All the drivers are to be English speakers. Improve coordination & safety There are too many middle-men between JEWCS operators and Drivers: Drivers Sub-contractor manager DAMCO manager JEWCS manager (deployment officer) JEWCS operator JEWCS is to receive the transportation company name, the truck and trailer registration plate number, the name of the drivers and their identity number 7 days before the first sub-task offloading Requested by the Nations to grant access to military bases overseas (48h on RNAS Yeovilton) The company has to provide JEWCS with the truck routes 7 days before the first sub-task offloading (unless there is a specific comment). Give us time to access the feasibility of the journey (security & authorization) The company has to confirm the type of truck 7 days before the first sub-task offloading. Especially when it is not a flat-bed The transport is not required to stay for the duration. IOT reduce the cost Better if they are around, since it gives flexibility

Strapping At Yeovilton JEWCS personnel will supervise the loading/unloading of equipment. Away from JEWCS, if no JEWCS personnel are available a responsible person will be briefed on how to supervise the load/unload and will forward the Transport Report Forms to JEWCS. The positioning of the load of the trailer will be under the supervision of the driver who is responsible for the securing and security of the load. JEWCS personnel will arrange all lifting equipment. No change of the load during the transportation All equipment is to be laid on flat surfaces. Equipment structure design Pod boxes are not to be stacked more than 3 high. Box design As soon as there is a vehicle, there is a need for ramps Empty spaces in the middle of a pod load are to be kept to a minimum so if the load shifts slightly boxes will not be displaced. Suitable and serviceable webbing, straps, metal chains and ratchet tensioners should be provided to secure loads. Other merchandise from other customers can’t be carried on the same load. The load and delivery in JEWCS, Yeovilton can only be done between 09h00 and 16h00 local time. JEWCS working hours : 08h30 -17h00

Mix To reduce the cost, assets are often mixed on a trailer
As long as, the trailer is flat (with ramps for vehicles if needed) => No worries On a 40-feet trailer: 9 Pods + Chacon + MRV

Paperwork The contractor is responsible for clearing the load through customs and preparing corresponding paperwork. Documentation provided by JEWCS: Description and ownership Loss & damage certificate NATO 302 (for Non-EU countries) European non-NATO member country (e.g. Austria) NATO non-EU member country (e.g Norway or Turkey)
