Pre-check on Consistency/Homogeneity 1a. Selection of a sufficiently large sample 5 big bags sorted out from running production 1b. Check on consistency/homogeneity Representative samples taken from these big bags Conduct complete API Spec 10A tests on these samples Compare results and release four big bags (# A-D) for Cooperative Testing (deviding to small shipping samples)

3. Distribution of samples Recipients/addressees according to the participants list provided by API The bags and bucket numbers for each participant were recorded Generally: Single shipments one bucket per participant Collective shipments one shipment with 9 to 70 samples on wooden ISPM 15 pallets, further distribution by the recipient, usually subsidiaries or field labs of the recipient.

Organization of Sample Shipment 4. Organizing sample shipment select and instruct forwarding company decide on method of shipment Single samples: by courier service Multiple package to one destination: by air freight issuing of the complete shipping and customs documents for each shipment (participant) shipping documents must include a pro-forma invoice + packing list for facilitation of customs procedures a low value of the material was declared (24 € per sample) Certificate of origin, issued by the chamber of commerce is to be added for certain countries For certain countries shipping documents were sent to receiver in advance for approval. Once received sample was released.

follow up of delivery status via courier service internet tracking modification of shipment documents upon request dispatch of additional documents when requested provide new set of samples - late coming participants (6 times) answer technical inquiries, resolve technical & logistical problems (1 case)

8. Problems and Proposed measures Aging of test samples Ship test quantity in several small (in participant's lab) portions, separately packed in double PE bags Damaged buckets using buckets of strong material, add hint on bucket "Fragile" Sample undeliverable Phone no. and of contact person is of vital importance (must be part of the application form and shipping documents) Subsequent shipments Keep a sufficient quantity of sample cement on stock (suggestion: 10 % of the total, shipped quantity) Customs problems Check and obey applicable specific regulations for every country. Import to some may require addition of a Certificate of Origin to the shipping docs, some also a Certificate of Analysis (API Spec 10A test report)
