Lied about God – Jeremiah 5:12
Prophesied falsely – Jeremiah 5:31
Given a choice to walk in God’s ways – said “We will not…”

5. A choice offered by Elijah
1 Kings 18:20-40 “If the Lord is God, Follow Him…:”
God’s people wicked under Ahab & Jezebel - 1Kings 16:30,31
Ahab & Elijah met – there was a showdown
Elijah called for people to quit straddling the fence
At first, they said nothing to him
Only after miraculous display did they rally around Elijah

Joshua challenged the people to forsake idolatry & serve God
Their response was immediate acceptance
