1 Proverbs

2 Is Wisdom Really Important?
Rom. 11:33  "O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past tracing out!"  1 Cor. 1:30  "And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption"  Mark 6:2  "And on the Sabbath he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get these things? What is the wisdom given to him? How are such mighty works done by his hands?"

3 Is Wisdom Really Important?
Acts 6:3  "Therefore, brothers, pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty." Acts 6:10  "But they could not withstand the wisdom and the Spirit with which he was speaking."  Eph. 1:17  "that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him" Col. 1:9  "And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding"

4 Is Wisdom Really Important?
Col. 4:5  "Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time.“ Seems like having wisdom is pretty important.

5 How do I get Wisdom? James 1:5  "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him." Prov. 1:1-6  "The proverbs of Solomon, son of David, king of Israel:  To know wisdom and instruction, to understand words of insight, to receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity; to give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the youth—Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance, to understand a proverb and a saying, the words of the wise and their riddles."

6 Proverbs are not Absolutes
Prov. 26:4  "Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself."  Prov. 26:5  "Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes."
