Psalm 105: Why Obey?

Obedience We are told to obey… God (Acts 5:29), Christ (2 Cor. 10:5)
the faith (Acts 6:7), the teaching (Rom. 6:17), the truth (1 Pet. 1:22) government (Rom. 13:1-7) Parent / master (Eph. 6:1, 5; Tit. 3:1) elders (Heb. 13:17)

Obedience We are told obedience is necessary…
For faith (Rom. 1:5; 16:26; Heb. 11:8) For righteousness (Rom. 6:16) For salvation (Heb. 5:9) For God’s children (1 Pet. 1:14)

Obedience Out of a sense of duty (Lk. 17:10)
Out of a sense of fear (Phil. 2:12) But, is there any other motivation?

Note that obedience comes from a profound sense of gratitude and appreciation for all the Lord’s works Note that obedience is built on the solid foundation of history, not mere feelings

Why Obey? Note that both emotions (105:1-6) and observance of law (105:45) are required; not one or the other The key: “remember his marvelous works” (105:5)
