Central Statistical Office of Poland GDP and beyond: Measuring progress in a changing world 5 Challanges: improved social cohesion, accessibility and affordability of basic goods and services, education, public health and air quality increasing poverty, more crime, depleting natural resources complementing GDP with environmental and social indicators: –comprehensive environmental index, including: climate change and energy use nature and biodiversity air pollution and health impacts water use and pollution waste generation and use of resources –quality of life and well-being near real-time information for decision-making more accurate reporting on distribution and inequalities thresholds for environmental sustainability extending National Accounts to environmental and social issues
