17 17 Mission The State Auditor oversees over $20 billion a year in local government spending. The State Auditor oversees over $20 billion a year in local government spending. The Office performs audits of local government financial statements, investigates allegations of wrongdoing, reports on local government finances and trends, and oversees TIF districts and fire fighter relief association pension funds.
