Presentation on theme: "Why use the UQ ePortfolio?"— Presentation transcript:

1 Why use the UQ ePortfolio?
Collecting & Organising Reflecting my ePortfolio The UQ ePortfolio acts as a central point for reflections throughout your program. This may help you to make connections between different components of your learning, and to make your ongoing progress more visible. You can also use the ePortfolio to showcase your work to a prospective employer. Resources are available for designing an online CV and digital showcase of your skills to improve your employability.

2 Collecting & Organising
Online file library Collect artefacts Documents Video Audio Images Automatically collects any work submitted through the ePortfolio Add artefacts from beyond your studies Organise and present your learning Show off your best work Make your progress visible Connect different aspects of your learning The ePortfolio provides you with an online file library for storing documents, video, audio and images useful to you as a student. Any work submitted through the ePortfolio is automatically collected, but you may wish to include artefacts from beyond your studies: your job, volunteering experiences, student exchange, etc. The ePortfolio pages can then be used to curate your work: choosing your best pieces so that you can showcase yourself to others. You can also choose pieces that represent different stages of your learning journey, making your progress as a developing professional more visible, and helping you to make connections between different aspects of your learning.

3 Reflecting All of your reflections in one place
Make your progress visible Plan for future development The ePortfolio can act as a central place for you to keep your reflections. Reflections for any of the Courses across your Program that use the ePortfolio can be seen in one place, allowing you to see your growth as a learner. Reviewing past reflections allow you to see how far you’ve come, and to plot learning goals for the future.

4 my ePortfolio Create an ePortfolio to
Showcase yourself as a professional Communicate your suitability against criteria Reflect on tangible examples of experience Employability goes beyond getting a job: it means having the skills and mindset to successfully gain, create and maintain work, making you able to perform effectively within a work environment. An ePortfolio allows you to showcase your employability through capturing and presenting snapshots of yourself as a professional and scholar. In a competitive job marketplace, an ePortfolio gives you an edge: you have specific answers ready for interview questions looking for past experience, with tangible examples ready to show. For information on how to build an ePortfolio and example ePortfolios see the Library “my ePortfolio” guides on the UQ Library site.
