How do you receive the news? How did Australian's in the 1960s and 1970s receive the news?

2 Was Vietnam a TV war? It is generally accepted that the Vietnam War as the first television war. The result was that TV helped lose the war for Americans and their allies Is this really true? Or is this an example of ‘false memory’?

3 An American War Most of the footage that Australian’s saw was of American troops. Australian reporter Neil Davis did have an enormous impact on the image of the war. His footage was edited in Australia so it would not cause offence. Most of Australia’s reporting was on protests back at home, not of the soldiers or battles.

4 Dealing with controversial and confronting representations
However there were confronting images published, particularly in America. These images compelled people to make their voice heard, and popular culture became the face of the protest movement in America.
